For more than 55 years, Terra Centre for Teen Parents has empowered young moms and dads to build strong futures for themselves and their children. And we’ve never done it alone.

Behind every young family finding their way forward is a community of people who believe in their potential. Donors, volunteers, businesses, partners and neighbours all play a role in creating opportunities for families to thrive.

This giving season, we’re inviting Edmonton’s business community to help us grow that circle of support.

From November 4 to December 31, our Community Creates Opportunity campaign aims to raise $100,000 to strengthen the programs, relationships and practical supports that help young families achieve their goals.

A Community Brought to Life Through Art

At the heart of our campaign is a colourful, growing art installation featuring more than 700 hand-painted wooden peg dolls.

Created by teen parents, children, alumni, volunteers, local artists, donors and community supporters, each doll represents someone who is part of Terra’s story.

Together, they are an important reminder that no young parent should have to navigate their journey alone.

When young parents and their children see this installation, we hope they see more than a collection of colourful figures. We hope they see a community standing behind them. People who believe in their potential, celebrate their achievements and want them to succeed.

And as the installation grows, so does the visible reminder that they belong to a community that cares.
