Rotary Club of Edmonton Glenora

“Our members are delighted to work with Terra Centre. We look forward to working with Terra to build on our vision of women and children achieving their potential in local and international communities and achieving the goal of seeing increased impact through strategic partnerships with organizations like the Terra.”

The Rotary Club of Edmonton Glenora first came to Terra in 2008 with a donation to our Child and Family Support Centre (CFSC). Our CFSC works with the children of teen moms who are working towards completing their high school education at Braemar. Their gift helped support the needs of the childcare centre and the high-quality early childhood development that’s provided to help give the children of teen parents the best start in life. Since their first gift to Terra, the Rotary Club of Edmonton Glenora, continues to support our work in early child development and they have also made an impact on Terra’s scholarship program, Youth Leadership program, as well as services that support parenting skills and help strengthen family relationships.

This local service club also has a hands-on impact by bringing gifts-in-kind, like diapers and children’s clothing, and by enriching our volunteer program. The Rotary Club of Edmonton Glenora provides regular volunteer support of our Clothes Closet program and hot lunch program at Braemar School. Through their work with Terra, we are grateful to witness their vision of women and children achieving their potential, while they help us to realize our vision.

Edmonton Civic Employees Charitable Assistance Fund

“The Edmonton Civic Employees Charitable Assistance Fund represents over 11,000 members from nine City of Edmonton unions and associations. Our members are very proud to support the Terra Centre family and to help create the Parent and Child Engagement Space to support families and our community.”

The Edmonton Civic Employees Charitable Assistance Fund (ECECAF) came to Terra with an interest in supporting our Capital Campaign project to transform our new home into a welcoming, inclusive family hub. ECECAF recognized our long history of intentional, early learning and child development programming as well as our need to make this meaningful programming available to more of the families we work with. ECECAF made a significant contribution to our Parent and Child Engagement space for Terra families to engage in structured and unstructured play and programming to support the early development of the children.

This space, which we hope will be fully renovated in summer 2024, will also host groups and programs that will offer parents and caregivers opportunities to strengthen their skills, attitudes, and behaviours to support their child’s holistic growth, learning and development. Recognizing that the well-being of the family and the child are inextricably linked, programs will combine social, psychological, and educational supports for the teen parents, their children, and any extended family who attends.

ECECAF prides itself on 80 years of impacting lives and promoting healthy communities by giving to organizations that support community members and their families. Thanks to ECECAF’s gift, Terra is one step closer to providing increased opportunities to participate, learn, and grow as citizens and parents in a dynamic and inclusive hub.
