Terra’s vision to create an inclusive, purpose-built building for teen parents in our community has been in the making for many years.

Beginning almost 10 years ago, Terra’s Board realized that our former building downtown did not fully meet our needs. While it suited the agency, it had limitations that hindered Terra from expanding and introducing new programs and supports for families in our community.

After many dedicated years of working, Terra has achieved major milestones on our building project, and we were thrilled to share our progress with the community.

Last week, we hosted donors, friends, and partners to celebrate the progress we’ve made on our capital campaign.  We celebrated the renovation progress we made on the lower level of our building and also celebrated achieving a major fundraising milestone –75% of our $4M capital campaign goal.

Guests had the opportunity to tour the newly completed lower level and see our plans for the next phase of renovations.  The building was buzzing with excitement as guests saw the transformation that took place over the last year.

Terra alumnae panel shared their experiences with guests.

The highlight of the evening was an intimate Fireside Chat featuring 3 Terra alumnae and moderated by Capital Campaign Chair, Cheryll Watson. This inspirational panel not only demonstrated Terra’s multi-generational impact but gave guests the chance to hear from participants about what excited them about Terra’s building. Terra’s new building is purpose-built and based on the needs of teen parents – this amazing panel demonstrated just that.

We are proud of what we’ve accomplished, but still have a ways to go. Please visit our new Building Stronger Futures page to learn more about what is next on our journey and how you can support.
