Ed(men)ton Project Summary:
Terra Centre for Teen Parents and enCompass Community Safety Agency are working together to create an inclusive collaboration of organizations that provide services to men. The project will create awareness of the supports that exist for men and increase opportunities for men to access coordinated and barrier-free services to strengthen their mental, emotional and physical well-being.
There are few coordinated resources for men. Evidence shows this segment of population is struggling. These struggles create negative ripples throughout families, society and through generations. Services in Edmonton for men seeking emotional and mental health support are fragmented and difficult to identify or access. Ed(men)ton believes that when men are supported in a proactive way to be better parents and intimate partners, families, communities and society within the city of Edmonton are strengthened.
