School Education for Teen Mothers
Finishing school is the first step to success for many young parents.
Working in partnership with Braemar School, an Edmonton Public School, Terra’s Education Support Services team provides pregnant and parenting teen moms with the support they need to reach their education goals.
Braemar School in Edmonton
Terra works in partnership with the Edmonton Public School Board to support teen moms in achieving academic success. Braemar School serves a junior and senior high school student population of teen mothers up to 19 who are pregnant and parenting. The unique partnership between Braemar and Terra helps students achieve their potential as both students and parents.
Education Support Services at Braemar School
Educational Support Services provides individual and group support to pregnant and/or parenting young women attending Braemar School. The focus is to support Braemar students, so they are better able to stay in school and reach their academic and personal goals.
Terra offers a range of on-site support services to students attending Braemar School.
Services include:
- Emotional and Supportive Listening
- Group Activities
- Pregnancy and parenting support
- Financial Literacy and Income Tax Support
- Youth Leadership Program
- On-site Childcare Centre (specializing in infant care)
