Terra relies on volunteers, financial and in-kind donations to offer services and support our teen parents.
At Terra, our specialized team tailors programs and services to meet the needs of each teen parent. Always safe, never judgemental. Learn more about what we have to offer our young families.
Late November, Terra families gathered for one of our favourite traditions of the year, our annual Participant Holiday Party. This celebration gives us a chance to simply be together. As our largest opportunity to gather, it’s a time where many young parents connect with one another, children play and explore, and our team gets to share in the joy that fills the room.
We got to gather not only with participants, but also with the people who matter most to them. We met grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends who play a support role in the lives of their children, and even the entire teaching faculty from Braemar School, came to share in the joy and celebrate alongside the families they support every day.
The space was buzzing from the moment doors opened. Families enjoyed a festive meal, decorated cookies, created holiday crafts, and visited Santa for photos. Children received special gifts to take home, thanks to the many friends of Terra who ran toy drives throughout the fall.
This event was made possible by a generous community of support. Hope City Church donated the beautiful venue, Eagles Nest Catering provided a wonderful meal at an excellent price, and dozens of partners and donors helped ensure every family felt celebrated. Their support reflects the heart of Terra, and when our community comes together, young families feel seen, supported, and encouraged.
With more than 240 attendees, the evening was full of laughter and connection. It was wall-to-wall joy and a reminder of what can happen when families have a place where they belong.
As we close another year, we are grateful for every parent, child, volunteer, donor, and partner who helped make this celebration meaningful. Moments like these show the strength, resilience, and hope that shine in our Terra community.
We want to thank everyone who helped make this event a success! Our volunteers, donors, and community members who gifted toys for children.
