C5 is a collaborative partnership of five leading Edmonton agencies including Terra, Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society, Boyle Street Community Services, Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers and Norwood Child & Family Resource Centre. We give a voice to the 30,000 people we collectively serve. Together, we support and empower:

  • Indigenous individuals and families
  • Some of the most economically, socially and culturally marginalized children, youth and adults in our inner city
  • Newcomers, immigrants and refugees
  • Vulnerable children and their families
  • Teen parents

The goal of this partnership is to create a fair and just Edmonton by working in collaboration to deliver services, to inform and influence social policy and practice to better support people experiencing vulnerability. While the partner agencies continue to operate as independent community organizations they have and will continue to identify specific policies, initiatives and programs that they believe can achieve better outcomes with a collective, collaborative response rather than acting individually.

The Ministry of Children’s Services recently published a report called A Stronger, Safer Tomorrow containing recommendations to strengthen Alberta’s child welfare system. On July 7, 2018, executive directors of each of the C5 agencies shared their position on the report in an opinion piece in the Edmonton Journal. C5 wants to see the strongest possible system for our most vulnerable children, and implementing this plan is a good step in that direction. Read the full opinion piece below.
