Position Summary:

The Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Child and Family Support Centre ensuring the provision of high-quality care and early childhood programming to registered children.  The Child & Family Support Centre is licensed for 77 children ages

0- 3 years of age and serves teen parents who are attending an educational program at Braemar School or post-secondary institution.  The Manager provides leadership and consultation to agency programs to integrate early childhood development services and represents Terra to the greater community, partnerships, and in agency initiatives.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain primary responsibility for the implementation and advancement of the Alberta Early Learning and Care Framework as the foundational guide to practice at the Child and Family Support Centre.
  • Responsible for alignment of program goals with the agency strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with community agencies, post-secondary and Agency partners to support knowledge sharing, growth and development of the sector.
  • Responsible for leadership, coaching and mentorship of child and family support Centre. staff.
  • Prepare and monitor the annual program budget that sustains annual operations of the Centre.
  • Implementation and oversight of administrative systems for data collection and reporting.
  • Participate in a process of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Plan and implement continuous learning and professional development of program staff.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree and or Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare
  • Alberta Childcare Level 3 Certification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing the operations of a childcare facility.
  • Proof of full vaccination COVID-19 as a condition of their employment before commencement.
  • Valid Driver’s License, Vehicle Registration, Vehicle Insurance with 2 million Liability
  • Drivers Abstract
  • A current (within last 6 month) Criminal Record Check and CWIS Record Check are required
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Must be at least 18 years old

 

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the Alberta Early Learning and Care Framework
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Alberta Health Services, Health and Safety Guidelines or Child Care Facilities
  • Maintain knowledge of the Alberta Nutritional Guidelines for Children and Youth
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the needs, issues, and the emerging trends within the childcare field and within the teen parent population.

Salary $ 60,000 – $ 65,000 commensurate with experience.
