Culture Day is all about connecting to culture and experiencing teachings and activities. It’s offered every Wednesday at Braemar School. These events are open to all participants at Braemar School. All cultures are welcome! Activities include:
Time: 9 a.m. Location: Small Gym
Kookum Kathy leads a smudge ceremony, which is open to participants, staff and Braemar teachers – all cultures welcome. Smudging grounds your spirit, mind and body throughout the day. Those participating in the smudge are welcome to bring their children, but must hold or supervise them during the ceremony. Teachings on how to smudge are provided every day.
Time: 9:15 a.m. Location: Child and Family Support Centre
Kookum Kathy spends time in the childcare rooms at our Child and Family Support Centre.
Time: 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Location: Braemar Cafeteria
Join the Culture Committee, where participants discuss various topics and ideas related to culture and inclusion.
Time: 1 – 3 p.m. Location: Counselling Room
Kookum runs activities with participants and provides cultural teachings.
