Terra relies on volunteers, financial and in-kind donations to offer services and support our teen parents.
At Terra, our specialized team tailors programs and services to meet the needs of each teen parent. Always safe, never judgemental. Learn more about what we have to offer our young families.
In May, Paul Thorne joined team Terra as our volunteer coordinator. Along with his experience running a volunteer program, Paul spent over 10 years as a high school music teacher, has been a child and youth worker and is a professional saxophone player. He was born in Barbados in, according to him, a time when television was black and white and music was played on cassette tapes.
Paul is excited to launch some new and exciting volunteer opportunities at the agency for community groups, organizations and individuals.
“I hope to help the wider community understand that by supporting our teen moms and dads through volunteering, they’re helping the generations to come,” says Paul.
Whether it’s cuddling babies, sorting donations in the Clothes Closet, delivering bread, tutoring students, providing labour support or helping during special events or group programs for our young families, Terra’s volunteers provide countless hours of support to ensure the best possible service to our teen parents and their children.
If you’re interested exploring volunteer opportunities with Terra, please contact Paul Thorne by email or at 780-428-3772 ext. 282.
We’re located at 9930 106 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta. We are open 8:30-4:30 Mon-Fri.
