Terra relies on volunteers, financial and in-kind donations to offer services and support our teen parents.
At Terra, our specialized team tailors programs and services to meet the needs of each teen parent. Always safe, never judgemental. Learn more about what we have to offer our young families.
As part of their work in the Justice Program at Monsignor Fee Otterson School, five Grade 8 choir students sold candygrams in hopes of using the proceeds to support a local charity. They contacted Terra and were incredibly thoughtful from the beginning, reaching out to us before making their purchases to truly understand what items our parents needed and to ensure their donation would benefit our families as much as possible.
The group raised over $320 and went shopping for much-needed items for our families — diapers for babies and feminine hygiene products for mothers. Hygiene products can often be a significant expense for our young moms and donations of specific items like these make a huge difference for our young families.
When dropping off this wonderful donation, the students treated Terra staff to a short performance. They sang La mia Stella, a beautiful Italian song about the sacrifices that parents make to create better lives for their children. This was an incredibly touching experience for our staff, given the nature of our work and the sacrifices and challenges we see our young parents facing daily. We were all deeply moved by their thoughtful song selection and were blown away by their talent and generosity.
Terra is grateful for the generous support we receive from individuals and groups in the community. These in-kind donations allow us to provide essential necessities to our families at no cost.
We are currently accepting donations of the following items at our downtown location and appreciate support:
