Groups & Classes for Young Dads & Teen Moms

Group activities allow young parents to learn from each other in a safe environment while reducing social isolation. Participants can discuss what life is like for teen parents and learn techniques to handle this new responsibility while socializing with their peers.

Prenatal Classes for Young DadsĀ and Teen Moms

Prenatal classes are offered for two consecutive evenings (Wednesday and Thursday) every six weeks to pregnant young women up to age 21, and one support person. Course materials and activities target teen moms and their coaches in a comfortable environment. Topics include what to expect during labor and delivery, comfort measures, and after-care. As well, questions and concerns can be addressed during these classes. The classes are facilitated by a public health nurse in partnership with Eastwood Public Health Centre.
