Terra Centre is a non-profit organization that has been serving pregnant and parenting teens in Edmonton since 1971.
With support from individuals and groups in our community, Terra helps more than 600 young people cope with the issues surrounding teen pregnancy each year.
Pregnant teens are offered a non-judgmental environment where they can explore their pregnancy options and determine their most immediate need for support.
97% of Terra clients choose to parent or are already parenting. Therefore, the majority of Terra programming is focused on helping teen moms and young dads develop the skills they need to be self-reliant individuals and successful parents.
In response to the needs of our clients, Terra programming focuses on the following three key areas:
- Family Outreach
- Housing Support Services
- Education Support Services
Terra programs are available to:
- pregnant and parenting teen moms up to age 19
- expectant and parenting young dads up to age 24
